Pole Test Demo

So you notice an individual pounding a utility pole in your neighbourhood with a hammer. Now it looks like they’re digging it up and drilling holes into it! Any cause for concern? No - more than likely it’s all part of FortisAlberta’s maintenance program. Our wood poles are built and treated to last decades, but factors such as climate, location, wildlife and human interference can occasionally...

We are not aware yet of the true power of magnets
The last thing you wanna do is listen to this clown
We would be far better off if they let this painfully stumbling man explain the claim and then give the reason for the errors of it in his own words.
Thanks for debunking a silly theory
Would have been nice if someone was there for Jj when she starved to death last night

6:50 It would help for an electricity expert to explain how and why a nozzle person can be electrocuted this way.
This year's residents have rebuilt the nest. Hoping Fortis will start the webcam soon.
05/01/2023. Nest rebuilding is now in progress by the new residents.
04/23/2023 Although I saw 1 Osprey on the structure last week, checked it out today and no evidence of it starting to rebuild the nest on the platform.
You have received electrical shock not have been electrocuted, because that means it killed you by safety terms
Support your employees first… narcissists are working for you and people around them have to suffer…
That's a lie. I life in Socorro county New Mexico my by was 400 two times even though it's just me
⚡️
Magnetism is the only source for power
something tells me he works for the electric company 🤣🤣🤣
Very Interesting
Did you know its illegal to instruct people on how to steal electricity? Just remember that when commenting. These people will prosecute.
you have to put the magnet on the meter base and it doesn't work anymore because of smart meters. it works Ive seen ppl get fined for it
THIS GUY WORKS FOR ELECTRIC COMPANY
Hmmmmmmm there is no conflict of interest here at all
The wattage on the stove includes the top burners set to max and the oven set to max
no 2600 watts would be a single element in the oven, most have 2 one at top and bottom and can be used bake for the bottom and broil for the top. factor oven cycling to temperature, thermal losses and all that jazz will be specific to each oven and the control/build quality. Dont quote me on this but i believe range top elements are 120volts in the US thus why you can have a 2 burner hot plate with the exact same elements plugged into 120 outlet. If the oven element is 2600 watt divide it by 240 and see it pulls about 10 amps while cycled on this is while ovens have large breakers so they can feed up to 5 elements at near 10 amp each. Convection ovens add the fan load but is likely minimal at 120 and 1amp or something. So if the 4 range top elements are on they are also maybe rheostat controlled but capable to .5 up to 10amps 120v load for a total if all were on high (which never happens who would hard boil 4 pots of water) it would be 40amps total to range top and 10 amps for the oven another 1 amp for convection fan totals 51amps with a 60amp cord and breaker installed. Ovens could have a cleaning mode and here it may actually use both elements but lets give benefit of doubt that no one is cleaning oven at 2 elements set to 500F while hard boiling water on 4 stove top elements. Now the maximum consumable wattage as your statement leans to is 240 volts at 60 amps as rated by the breaker 240x60=14.4KW or 14,400watts an hour. In a real world scenario it would never be pulling that as we have learn. Toaster oven is capable or consuming from a 120volt 15/20 amp circuit 1,800/2,400 watts respectively but manufacturers of devices tend to keep things at or below 1,500watts or 1.5KW... a 12 gauge standard house wire can provide up to 30amps to a 120 receptacle, receptacles can also have 2 lines ran to a single outlet if the socket bridge link is removed or it can be single serviced on one socket and out going using that bridge as a fuse link yadda yadda 120volts at 30amps is a potential of 3600watts or 3.5KW which is a fair amount of angry pixies and some people do consider that when wiring for specific outlet like counter outlets that the future betty crockers will want all those angry pixies going to the counter outlets for their daisy chained george forman and easy bake oven configurations. Now if you baited me with such a small comment bravo, if we learned something today bravo. if i had just 1 piece of lumber per comment on YT i wouldnt be living in a house built in 1920. Yes your right this dinky video is totally wrong but your statement is even more wrong thus requiring a lengthy but standard (for me) reply.
Microwaves are bad they make food wet and gross I like the way food tastes from an oven.
Why does he looks like he wants to cry
Dull. Dumb .
Another factor that is not considered in this video is that toaster ovens are generally not insulated and are therefore quite inefficient. There will be a crossover point at which the 'energy hog oven' will be more efficient than the toaster oven, depending on time and temperature.
What would the firemen do if electric power causes the car to catch fire while the injured persons are trapped inside the car and still alive?
Since it will electrocute the crew, you wait for de energization. We have remote grid shutoff at my department which allows quick de energization in life threatening scenarios.
I got a half inch magnet for the job but I think I need a 1 inch magnet instead lol
neat to watch, thanks for sharing
How big does the magnet be too lower electricity
Thanku for making incredible vedio.
Thoughtful and kind!
Nice explanation
good for you !!!!
What a beautiful video and meaningful way to come together and share this gift of hope and joy to others who are not able to be with their families and friends this season. A great example for businesses and people across our province and our country to remember others and support them however we can.
Are you Ok??
Way to go Fortis & staff!
thanks
Lmao of course the power company says it won’t work and the simple fact that they are making videos to dispute it only confirms it

The intersection of hiway 2 and hiway 11 (west of red deer) is in correctly mapped for light standards. The high masts on the west side of the intersection are marked as Fortis property, this is not correct. I did call in the mast which is completely burned out to the Alberta Transportation. Fortis needs to look at their mapping on this intersection to correct all the mapping mistakes. |I think they also need to look at the hiway 2 and hiway 11a intersection mapping as well, there are mistakes in your property mapping there as well. I try to call it in and got the run around , so its now up to Fortis to address this major problem. Its a matter of public safety when outdoor lighting is out at major intersections, please bring this up at your board meeting and assign a mapping repair task force or what ever you guys do in your safety meetings. Brian
Hi Brian, I've passed this on to our GIS team to take a look at it. For future requests relating to the streetlight map, can you please call us at 310-WIRE (9473) so we can get your contact info and follow up with you. Thank you!
So this is the kind of guy who doesn't get ThioJoe's sarcasm🤣
CFL bulbs degrade in light output overtime. The bulb starts white and turns to a yellow light. LED has a cost factor up front problem, small bulbs can cost 5 dollars for a 25 watt A15 form factor, it's not a energy hog but a fiscal joke. No money is saved if the input costs are extreme.
The truth comes out!
I have marked a 5 block outage in Sylvan lake, on lakeshore drive. I left my contact name and number, yet no response from Fortis on this major outage. What did I do wrong?
Hi Brian, you will only be contacted if they are unable to find the issue reported to get more information. We have received your request and someone will be out to repair the lights as soon as they can.
@@FortisAB Hi: Thankyou for fixing most of the street lights on Lakeshore drive, I know there are a lot of them. I have noticed the app has not been corrected for Lakeshore drive in Sylvan Lake, so I can't report the remaining burned out street lights. The drive has about 8 lamps still out, but I can't use the app if it isn't maintained by Fortis, for reporting purposes. The red markers can be turned to yellow, again on Lakeshore drive from 39 street to 50 Avenue. Each of the standards is an antique style standard with offset fixtures, most of the burned out fixtures have one bulb out of two, burned out. I can help you identify them, if the app webpage is maintained. Thanks Brian
@@BrianGallagherSylvanLk Thanks for letting us know. can you please give us a call at 310-WIRE (9473) and we'd be happy to help you out!
@@FortisAB Hi. I spoke to an employee today and he is flagging each pole to be repaired. I drove Lakeshore drive last night and flagged some he missed. I also drove 50 street and flagged several more burned out lights. (11/13/20) One of the lights on the east end of Lakeshore drive is on in the day and off at night, ( across from Days Inn). I tried to use app to mark some more lights, but the app has not been updated from red to yellow, it was marked in September. Brian
Energy hog stoves are obsolete. Get one of these and a couple of induction hotplates plus a cook pot. You'll save money up front, time, and energy. If you do something like a big Thanksgiving dinner, have people bring their own; they're portable too.
